I am currently pregnant with my "third" baby. I have a healthy six year old, and just recently suffered a miscarriage in April. We ended up just finding out we are pregnant again (didn't plan it, especially so soon, so we are even more worried for how soon it is after the miscarriage)...my question is, does anyone know the percentile of having a miscarriage after already having one? We lost our baby completely at 8 weeks, but it stopped growing at 4. I did not have a d & c, and did have a somewhat regular period last month.

I've looked all over the net and found some information, but I have work I have do to at this time, so I was wondering if anyone knew this information and could pass it along to me...

Thanx for you help.

The percentage doesn't change until a woman has 2 miscarriges, then it jumps down to 80% likely to carry to term. I don't really know past that. I used to know a site that explained all that (which is where I got the after 2 percentage.) I'll see if I can find it again, and then post the link if I can.

My friend had a miscarriage at 5 months. They told her that it would not be safe or healthy for her to get pregnant for awhile, because the chances of another miscarriage, or compications in pregnancy go up. I would consult your Doctor.

My miscarriage was at 8 weeks...the baby stopped growing at 4. That is a huge difference from what your body goes thru at 5 months along and 8 weeks along...it would take longer the further you are along, for your body to go back to normal. My body went out of whack for a short time, mostly due to the new bc I was on, and as soon as I got off that bc, I had a normal, regular period.
God bless your friend...that must have been terrible for her to go thru that so far along.

I've talked to my doctor and they told me nothing of it hurting my body or higher chances of having a miscarriage. Actually, your chances of having a miscarriage after a previous miscarriage are pretty low, although it does happen of course. They said once you have a regular cycle, your uterus is back to as it was pre pregnancy.

I'm a bit more relieved, although I will still always be nervous. Not because this pregnancy and my miscarriage are close together, but because I suffered a miscarriage period. I will always be scared, whether this pregnancy or any other pregnancy in my future. But I still plan on enjoying this pregnancy as much as I can. I'm thrilled.

This site may help. Of course, it is only one of many. Just do some research on the internet! Good luck!

My mom has had 4 miscarriages, and had to get 2 abortions because the egg was in her fallopian (spelling on that?) tube. I know there not called abortions when you have to get them I just can't think of the word! Anyway, I don't have any real advice other than I know a lot of people who have had one, even two miscarriages and succesfully had children! Take my mom for instance Smile 6 bad pregnancies and then she has two kids. Although is was many years apart! I wish you the best of luck!
