I'm hoping someone out there can help me!
First, a little about myself... I am 23 years old with 3 children, ages 4 yrs., 2 yrs., and 5 weeks. My husband is 27 years old, and serving in Afghanistan, and has been there since February. He is expected to come home in July 2005.
I experienced postpartum depression with my second child. Anti-depressants never did anything for me, I was put on a mood stabilizer, but had to stop taking it when I became pregnant with #3.
The depression I'm experiencing with this child is like nothing I've ever experienced before. I love my kids with all my heart, and they're always my very first priority. I also love my husband, but I find myself questioning our relationship. Being a soldier overseas, he became friends with a 10 year old girl in Florida (we live in Minn). I find myself extremely jealous of their relationship, and I feel left out. Is that normal? I had a dream last night that he was secretly seeing a girl from our town, and I found out about it. My husband is a busy guy, always working at his job and on our farm. He has not given me any reason to be suspicious of him. However, no matter what I tell myself, and no matter how hard I try, I keep believing that he does not love me anymore, I'm not good enough for him, and he's going to leave me for these other girls.
In reading on postpartum depression, I've come across postpartum psychosis. This is more severe, it's having hallucinations or delusions. Are my thoughts/feelings delusions??
Is there anyone out there with knowledge of postpartum psychosis??
Please help!

Good for you for understanding and being aware of your feelings. That is a good sign. Depression is a scarey thing and there isn't a lot of support out there for Post partem depression because everyone expects happiness regardless of the chaos you would experience with three small children. I am not an expert and I had some mild depression, but nothing too dangerous. Staying in regular contact with your doctor is a good idea. Keep him/her up to date on the way you are feeling and thinking.

Get a babysitter if you can and take some time for you. Go for walks regularly and get some fresh air. Sometimes we need to get out and communicate with a mature vocabulary that doesn't necessarily include chatting on-line. My prayers are with you! If you would like to email me, feel free to do so! I am sure your kids would agree with me, that you are an awsome mom!!

Have a good day!

I know what if feels like to be depressed! I too was once on anti-depressants and have the feeling everyday of worrying about my husband. 1/2 a million mothers feel the same way! Depression is a chemical imbalance! Due to hormones and chemicals in your body, you just have to keep telling yourself over and over that things will get better and that it doesn’t help to keep thinking like this. Not only are you warring at yourself, if you are this way it is wearing at your children as well! Do to harmful chemicals and toxins from everyday use products can also make you feel this way they can cause headaches, depression, joint pain, chronic fatigue, chest pains, ear infections, dizziness, loss of sleep and also .. Allergies, birth defects, cancer, psychological abnormalities, A.D.D, A.D.H.D. the chemicals are not just hurting you but also your family! I am a MOM (Mother On a Mission) Trying to help other mothers aware of such things! You are not at fault for feeling this way and must not feel bad about feeling this way, just remember you’re not alone in feeling this way! We all have our children to love and think about! If you would like some more information about these chemicals and toxins that can be causing your depression visit my website and go under the "get more info" icon and fill out the information. Not only can I help you understand more about these chemicals and toxins and what they are doing to you and your family but i can show you an alternative and also make a career helping other mothers get informed about the hazards! Here is my website
