Question for anyone who has flown with babies.....I am going home for christmas and curious how airlines work with carseats as baggage. Do I need to pack it in anything? or just leave it as is? Also do they let you check the whole travel system or should I leave the stroller home. Just curious if anyone knows before I go through the hassle of calling the airlines. |

I haven't traveled with a baby or a carseat before.... but I do know that if you want the baby to sit in the carseat as you travel in the airplane that most airlines will charge you for the seat.... if you let the baby/child sit in your lap the whole flight they usually let them fly at no charge. I do not know if a carseat is counted as baggage or is even allowed, though, sorry! Good luck! Have a great flight and Happy Holidays!
( I found out the above because we were talking about traveling by plane for a Christmas Vacation.) |

| We traveled to Vegas when my son was four months and now this month my daughter is four months and we are traveling too. THe way we did it and it was easy was when we got out of the car I put the carrier in the stroller. I don't know how big your airports here but here they are big so it was easier. We checked it. Both the stroller and the carrier. If you take the carrier on the plane you are paying for the seat. actually what I did was bring the pouch on the plane. This way I had my hands free. But you don't need to pack it in anything. They will just put the tag on for you and that's it. Good luck traveling. It was a bit overwhleming at first just the thought of it but you'll see it's not that bad. And worth it to go home for the holidays. |
