I tried to ask this on the parenting board but didn't get much reply! I know a lot of you are 1st time parents and may not know but if anyone could please help explain this I would really appreciate it!

~~~ SORRY IF THIS IS TOO MUCH INFORMATION!! ~~~
-- I had my baby August 24, 2004. I breastfed my baby for like 2 weeks and then I got mastitis (infection of the breast) and couldn't breastfeed anymore and had to change to formula. Well Oct. 9-13 I had my fisrt period since having my baby on the 15 I had my check-up... they went ahead and did my yearly physical. Well, after that I bled like the whole next week. My husband and I didn't have sex until 8 weeks after I had my baby. We have only had sex like 4 times total since she was born and every time it has been protected sex since we really do not want another baby. The doctor had me on the minipill, and I am switching to the patch whenever I start my period again!? I took a hpt like the other week and last week... each were negative... but I still have not had my period! Does anyone know why I am not having my period? Is it normal? Should I be worried? Does breastfeeding for just two weeks effect my period? I am so stressed and worried because I do not want to have another baby... especially this soon! PLEASE HELP!
Breast feeding does effect your period. I am not sure if only doing it for 2 weeks makes a difference but also your body takes a while to get back to normal after a baby. I wouldn't worry. My sister's body took a good few months to stabalize a little.
YES breastfeeding does affect your period. And after pregnancy it may take a while for your periods to become normal again. With my last baby in June of 2000 I didn't get my period till feb of 2001!!!!!!!! Don't worry if it doesn't become normal for awhile thats normal!
