Hey, I had my 20 week scan and all is well and good. They couldn't see the details of its face as baby was laying with its tummy towards my spine. They also refused to tell us the sex of the baby which really annoyed me as I really want to know! Good luck for anyone who has their scan soon....

Hi there,

Sorry you didn't get to see the details of its face sometime babies just don't cooperate. As far as them refusing to tell you the sex I would be extremely angry its not their choice if you want to know they should tell you. Glad everything else looks good!

Hi,

When I had my ultrasound at 18 wks, the policy of the clinic due to
legal issues/possible lawsuits was not to disclose the sex of the baby to the patient. But they would send the info. to your doctor and and you could find out the sex from your doctor, which is what I had to do.
My next appt. was at 20 wks, which is when I found out I was having a boy. Again, the doctor says they cannot guarantee the sex 100 %.

Just ask your doctor at your next appt., unless at the time of your scan
they could not see the genitals because of baby's position.

Good luck!

we had the same problem up here in scotland when we went for a scan at 20 weeks they could not see the sex of the baby.

AS its my 3rd baby we werent due a scan but they said the baby was a wee bit small and i was offered another scan the lady who did the scan was really nice and she said she would have a look and told us 100% its a boy and it is 100% as the way he was lying u could see everything.

But i got told the reason why some dont say as if they are wrong u could sue them but dont know if thats true.

NIkki is right. If you had your ultra sound done by someone else other than your doctor or anyone in that office then they usually won't tell you because of fear of law suits. But if they did see the sex then your doctor will know and you can ask them.
Good Luck!!
