|

My daughter will be two in Oct. and I just noticed her labia is fused in the middle with a small opening on top and bottom I am in utter panic here!!! I remember looking there when she was REALLY little and her opening seemed very large to me....but I never thought anything of it. NOW it's fused! I just wipe front to back! And put her in the tub everyday. I don't open and wash because it makes her swirm! Am I a bad parent? I am devistated! Will call Dr. in the Morning! Keira |

| You're not a bad parent. I can't remember the percentage, but it does happen to a small percent of girls, 5% I think. My dd closed once and I didn't know and then it started to a 2nd time. The first was when she was tiny though and I was told it would probably happen a couple more times before she was 2yrs. I can't remember the exact reason. It's called a Labial Adhesion. You are supposed to open it up and clean it though at baths. The doctor will give you a prescription estrogen cream to apply a couple times a day for a week maybe to open it back up. What my dd was given is called Premarin. |

Thanks Mum of 2 boys and Mom of 2, phew!!! I was worried! Yes, they gave us the cream for 10 days, then supposed to apply vaseline to keep open, might have to do for up to a year. I'll let you know what happens. She said this could keep happening up to 6 yrs old! THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT!! Keira |

Hello, I am new here!!!
I just wanted to post a reply about vagina fused.
Not to long before my daughter was 2 yrs old, she had the same thing.
Of course she is 3 now. I used that cream and within 7 days everything was normal. |

| Hi Christa, thanks for writing. Once the labia opened did you use vaseline to keep it open? It's opening little by little. One week didn't do the trick 10 more days eeeeeeek, we'll see what happens! Keira |
