Typically, you ovulate 1/2 way through your cycle.......ovulate meaning, you will release an egg and it needs to ber fertilized w/in 24 hours or the egg will diminish, thus bringing on your period for the next month.
So, for example.......if your period is 28 days, you'd generally ovulate on day 14. If your period is 30 days, you'd ovulate on day 15. If you are irregular, it is hard to determine when you would ovulate, but I guess that's where ovulation predictor tests can come in to play......

Hi,
Just to add to what Desertmom said, another way to tell when you are
ovulating and is effective when you have irregular cycles like I did, is to
check your vaginal discharge. When you notice that it becomes clear and sticky (like egg whites), that means that you will be ovulating within the next 24 hours. Which means it's time to get busy with your man  |
