Just wanted to ask some of you. My daughter loves her tummy time, but she throws up alot more when she is playing on her belly. Did anyone else go through this. I figure it is because they are strenghening and using thier stomach muscles more. Let me know so I can feel better and not take my daughter to the doctor for an un-needed visit.

Morning Krissmace!
My daughter does the samething. Although she doesn't enjoy tummy time so she's not on her tummy too much. It may be a little acid reflux. She's not on cereal yet right? I notice Payton's got a little better after she was put on cereal. But to help I don't put her on her belly for lie an hour after she eats. This way everything is digested. She may still spit up a little but you should notice a big difference. When you bring her for her next check up you coud just mention it to the doctor. THis way get his opinion on it. Hope that helps.

Your dd sounds normal, but I'd just mention it at your next dr. appt. My ds is the same also. He REALLY spits up right after his bottle and continues all the way til his next bottle. He loves tummy time and it wouldn't matter if remained upright all day, it's still going to happen. He's even on enfamil AR and foods so cereal doesn't make a difference except it's a little thicker when it comes back up. Spitting up is ok unless it hurts/burns-acid reflux- and their not losing weight.

My daughter had trouble keeping down her formula. We began on breast milk and had to go to formula because I developed mastitis and was unable to produce enough milk for her. Anyways, we took her to the doctor and he put her on a special formula that would be easier for her to digest. It is Similac Alimentum Advance. IT IS A BLESSING! She basically quit spitting up so much after we got her on that... and also they told us to keep her head/body atleast 45 degrees after every feeding! If it didn't work they were going to do X-Rays to see if she had Pyloric Stenosis. A condition in which thickening or overgrowth of the muscle at the exit of the stomach causes a blockage, leading to increasingly more sever and more forceful projectile (and regular) vomiting/ spit up. This usually starts at 2-3 weeks old... it is usually found in boys but girls can get it. We also use Dr. Browns bottles for Tameka. Between Dr. Brown's bottles, Similac Alimentum Advance and keeping her up after her feedings she got better... ever since about two months ago she hardly EVER even spits up! Good luck! I would want to mention it to your doctor. I would try the special formula and then if that didn't work... ask your doctor about Pyloric Stenosis or GER (Gastroespophageal refulx).
