i knew i would eventually be on this board asking all kinds of questions that seem just silly to me, so here goes the next one... is there any "normal" amount that a 1 week old should be eating at each feeding? MyKenzi eats about 4-5 ounces at each feeding, and she feels compelled to eat about every 4 hours sometimes 3... is that normal or healthy? or am i going to have a chunky baby cuz she feels the need to eat like her daddy.. hehehe

THat sounds fine melisa. WHen Mikey was young he did four ounces every two hours. If it was too much for her you would notice her spitting it up or turning away from the bottle. If she's drinking it then she's hungry.

Sounds like a good amount to me. I think both of mine ate less and they did fine, but I've never heard of a baby eating more than it needed.

thats a good amount my son is 7 weeks and only takes a 5 ounce every 4 hours.

My little piglet used to eat 4 ounces every 3 hours...so I would say your baby is doing just fine!! I really don't think they eat more then they need at that age!!

My docto said exactly what Beth said. They won't over eat at this age. She's eating what she needs.

Sounds fine to me. Babies wont over eat they''ll stop when they're not hungry!
