Hi,
I am a stay at home mom with my first baby, who is now 4 1/2 months old. I don't know if I am interacting/playing with him too much or not enough. How long should I play with my baby or have him entertain himself throughout the day? I just want to make sure I am doing the best as I can being a stay at home mom! Any advice will help, thanks!

I don't think there are any "rules" for playing with your baby. My daughter is the same age and I spend most of my day playing with her. With the exception of when she is napping which is 3 times a day. She lets me know when she is sick of something we are doing, or when she is finished with me. Sometime she just wants to be by herself in her crib with her mobile or in the swing watching Baby Einstein. Just follow your babies cues. I don't think you can ever spend too much time playing with your baby |

| I agree with everything krissmace says. Play with her until you see she has lost interest. She will start turning the other way or fussing. Then just see if she wants to be by herself either in the swing or on the floor with her toys. I don't think you can over play with them. They get soooo much out of play time with you the more the better. |
