Does anyone out there have a child who went from 2 naps to 1 and takes the one in the morning rather than the afternoon? My daughter has only taken 1or 2 afternoon naps in the past couple of weeks. But she will go down for her morning nap at about 10AM like clockwork. I know I've read that when they transition to one to try to move it up to after lunch, but it's darn convenient having her take it in the morning, then if we go somewhere in the afternoon, we aren't interrupting her naptime.
She doesn't seem tired in the afternoon either (she's like the Energizer bunny!!!). I just put her down at night a little earlier.
I was just curious about others' experiences.
Thanks.

| Mikey was about 18 months when he went from 2 to 1. He still takes his one and it's at least two hours. It's really been whenever during the day. If we are out he falls asleep on the ride home and then I just carry him in. How long does she nap for? |

Whatever works best for your daughter and you is what you should stick with.
Alex went from 2 naps to 1 nap at around 14 months. I noticed he didn't seem that tired in the morning anymore because he would wake up at around 8:30 am.....so he started taking his 1 nap after his lunch which was around 1 pm. He normally would sleep until 3 or 3:30pm.
Now at 2 1/2 he is really fighting the one nap which I'm not too happy about but I knew this was coming. He is also in his new bed which means if he doesn't want to sleep he just gets right out. It's really tough now. So he is only taking his nap maybe every other day or so. The days he doesn't have his nap, I have him in bed and sleeping by 8:00pm.
Though, once the summer comes and the days are longer, I'd like him to go to bed a little later, maybe around 9pm, so that we can do stuff after dinner. |

Oh goodness....I can't remember. Definately by 2 but I think it was a bit earlier. When she first stopped taking them she would get grumpy in the evening so we tried a quiet time but she grew past that to the point where she just doesn't stop and I can't find the off switch. My ds is starting to cut down on his. I hope he doesn't want to be like his sister. He sleeps great at night so I can't complain to much. |

She naps for about an hour and a half. She wakes about 7am and goes down for the nap at about 10am. I guess it sounds as though it doesn't really matter WHEN she takes a nap. Thanks everyone for the input!
