Hi Everyone! Im new to the boards. My name is Sara. I am 19, and I am due March 15th; and to be a little honest Im scared! I know this is normal. But is there anyway to over come this fear? I also wanted to try and have as natural a child birth as possible. No Epidurals, I hate needles.
I have had a few people yell at me, and tell me I am stupid, just because I do not want an epdural, but I have yet to take any form of lamaze class. I just don't have the time. My schedual is so hectic and busy, I think I just get to caught up with everything else. I have been looking online to see if there are any online video's I can download or watch, but have yet to find any. Does anone know of any good (cheap) video's I could purchase?
Well thanks for reading my babble!

| My due date is June 6th and I am a little scared too. I don't think that there are any movies out there. Maybe you should ask the hospital if they have any. Good luck and maybe you will change your mind about hoving an epidurals. You might be in too much pain to know that there is a needle going into your back. And I hate needles too. And I am going to get an epidural. |

I think more then anything, with me not getting an epidural, its a mental thing. I wanna see how long I can go, and mentally control the pain and stuff, and I know it might sound "crazy", but I wanna at least be able to say I tried, before I leap right into an epidural!
I just want my baby! |

I gave birth to my son when I was 19. I did not have an epidural AND I never took any lamaze classes. It can be done |

How much did he weigh when he was born?
Cause I really do NOT want to have an epidural. My grandmother didn't, my mom didn't and I don't want to! And I don't think any of my sisters did either. Even if I can make it half way through without anything, I will be proud of myself and at least I can say I tried! |

Well they can't hurt! It all depends on your labour...God knows NOTHING would have helped me short of a good dose of demerol or morphine hahaha! |

| The birth class made a HUGE difference in my case. I ended up needing a c-section, and I'm so glad I was prepared for it with the knowledge I gained from my class. The class just prepares you for all the things that could and will happen in the delivery room. |

Haha Thanks Suzanne!! I am too cool for those classes!
Anyway, I think if you can take the class or watch a video, any knowledge will help you. I didn't take classes, but I did LOTS of research. I didn't go into the delivery room with no knowledge. |
