Hi,
I doubt I am spelling it right. But I called my doc the other day and the next step (since I haven't become pregnant after trying forever) is a "post quoitel" test.

This is when you need to go in when you are ovulating after you have had sex (no planned appointment needed since this is a immediate exam and must be when you are ovulating) so that they can look inside and see if the sperm is getting where it needs to go.

I know that this maybe a stupid question to some...but has anyone here had this done? And if so, am I allowed to shower first, or do I need to just go in right after the baby dancing?

Hey,

I have never had a post coital test done but I did find some info. for you at this link: http://www.ivf.com/fert_postcoitaltest.html

I would check with the clinic you plan on going to or doctor about showering before you go for your test....apparently the post coital checks the compatability of your mucus with the sperm.

Good luck

Nikkie,

YOU are amazing, thank you. You were so sweet to find me that web site, the information zoned in on exactly what I needed to know!

I always lurk on this board and I always see that you are very kind and helpful (you have also been so to me as well in the past) to every one of us.

So, I think I speak for everyone here. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Valerie :D

Your very welcome and I'm glad I could help you!
I had never heard of a post coital test before you posted about it
so I learned something new myself when I did the search for the info.

I wish you the best and hope everything works out for you and hubby/boyfriend
