I was told that since I was late in my pregnancy and the baby should be "dropping" soon... it is a bad idea for me to be riding bikes. I mean it's not like I go mountain climbing  .... I just go to the local park and ride my bicycle around. Just about 2 miles a day. Does anyone know why this is bad or has anyone heard about this?

Your dr. would be best to advise you since he is familiar with your pregnancy. The only thing I know about cycling is that your center of gravity is off making it easier to lose your balance and fall. Plus you have to lean forward which can cause backache. Any kind of activity they say to be sure to keep hydrated and to keep your heartrate from going above a certain number, not sure but I think it's in the 140's. From what I've read if you done it all along it should be ok as long as it's a smooth, non strenous, short ride, but I'd ask your ob to be sure.
