Hello to all you beautiful mommas out there!
Can you help me, my daughter was born C-section and she had a round head right after birth but I noticed in the nursery there was a round red spot (about the size of a small cup) on the back of her little head so I said to the nurse..Hey what is the red spot and she said that they used a suction device to get her out...Now it is 7 days later and there is still a lump on that side of her little head..will it go away???????
Thank you much...
Sunny

My Dh's cousin gave birth in Feb., they had to use the vacuum to deliver her little girl. The red mark is still there, much smaller and lighter though like a birth mark, but it took about 3 weeks for the "cone" shape to go away completely.

Its more than likely a bruise, babies who get forcepts used on them or vacumns often come out with battle scars that go away but some keep them and they become birth marks the good news is if it is a birth mark it will drastically lighten up!!!!!

My daughter had a bunch on her forhead when she was born and there still ther but you have to look for them.

Best of luck!
Kerri
