Hi Vicky,

I was just wondering how things are going with you??
Did you manage to get a blood test scheduled? I hope everything worked out the way you wanted it to

Take care.

Hi,

As I live in England, the doctor doesnt do a blood test, but they said that the home tests are as reliable as any they would do at the surgery. I have my first appointment with my midwife on mon 20th. Then she will do a blood test, and book me into which ever hospital I want to go to. I should be 8weeks on thursday!!!

Something I was going to ask about was that over the past week, I have had stretching feelings and very slight cramp feelings, I've read in lots of places that this is generally due to the womb stretching. What do you think? Its a little concerning when you dont know what to expect!

Vicky

Good to hear you have an appt booked with a doctor.....I hope everything goes well with your pregnancy.

Mild period-like cramping is normal. I've had it with both pregnancies.
But the stretching feeling you have described I'm not really familiar with but I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. Everyone's body responds differntly to pregnancy. If you are concerned ask your doctor when you go for your appt. Make a list of questions to bring to your appt.

Are you taking your pre-natal vitamins yet? You should start as soon as you can.

There are also lots of great books with information on pregnancy that you can pick up from a book store or library....."What To Expect When You're Expecting" is probably one of the most popular pregnancy books.

Good luck :D

I definetely had the stretching feeling. It is the ligaments trying to grow longer to support an ever-expanding uterus!! It is all totally normal.
