: My daughter has so much gas. This is my 3rd breast fed baby and the other 2 did not have this. I have asked the pediatrician and he said just an immature system. She is so smelly and seems really uncomfortable????I am not eating excessive amounts of anything and she is a great nurser--any advice?

I had the exact same problem with my daughter in which is now 8wks. old and still pretty gassy.

She started at about 4wks. of age not having BM's every day, she is now only a once every 4-6 day girl. This is why she is sooo smelly when she passes gas. Her pediatrician said this is because her body is absorbing everything she is eating. As for the gassyness her ped. just told me to change my diet. I did so and no change in her. I think it is just the way her body is.

I do give her mylecon drops by mouth to help her relieve her gas and it seems to help some.

Good luck.
