: Excema is usually quite distinguishable. I get it and it starts out as tiny water blisters under the skin. It is rash-like and extremely itchy and annoying. It burns as well, expecially when scratched open. If it is just a dry skin problem (depending on where you live) it may just be winter related due to the heater running. It could also be from a laundry detergent or other scented or coloured items that the baby is coming in contact with. Sometimes it is even from foods that the baby touches and/or ingests. : Lori K Lori, I have excema on my hands. Have you personally ever used baby lotion for yours? Me and my brother both experienced pain and stinging after using Johnsons. If just dealing with dry skin the best thing I have used is Aveeno products for babies. Even for myself actually. Not too heavy or greasy.

: Excema is caused from an allergy (mine is all metals, especially nickel) and once you find the allergen and remove it , she will be ok.
: Have you tried using Johnsons baby lotion, or Nivea cream? They work very well. Be careful with the Nivea though , it is greasy and you wouldn't want to use to much and have her rub it in her eyes. Johnsons is made for babies so that is taken into consideration with all of their products. You could also add a bit of baby oil to her wash cloth or her bath. That works great for cradle cap as well.
: Sorry this is so long. I hope your little girl is itch free soon. Take care.
