: : hi everyone,
: : i haven't posted in quite awhile but have been keeping up with everyone through reading some great stories and advice.
: : i have a couple of questions about the use of the pacifier. Will is now 3months old and has gotten pretty attached to his pacifier (much to his parents dismay but we felt it was better than his thumb...just our opinion).
: : several times a week he will wake up in the middle of the night (sometimes even a couple of times) but will go right back to sleep if we put his pacifier in his mouth. i don't think it wakes him up when it falls out b/c i have checked on him before, when we retire to bed, and it is already out of his mouth. so i am not sure what to do about this....should we continue to go into his room popping it in or let him CIO for a bit? i just don't want to start a bad habit of him learning mom & daddy will run right in to pop it in once i cry. could he be teething this early?? any suggestions?
: : thanks!!!

: My daughter was the same way. Now 16 months and has for a long time been able to put it back in herself. My son, 5 months, now is needing our help with his. We are being patient with the knowledge and hoping that he will eventually figure it out himself. I don't think I helped much but that is what we are doing for now.

I am letting my daughter cry out for awhile, she is not crying much, just kind of calling out. when the cry changes i go in. She is 10 months old, sometimes she finds the pacifier and sometimes she falls back asleep, and like I said sometimes I have to go in and give it to her.It is such a hard thing to figure out, I hear so many conflicting things to do. I say just go with your gut. I'm sure everything will work out. Take care. Bye for now>!! FROM Melinda................
