Sometimes babies will sleep more one day than the next. My son is also 5 1/2 months old and most days he hates to take a nap, and on occasion he wants to sleep all the time. This is pretty normal. They usually sleep alot and eat alot when they are growing.

If however it is accompanied with a fever I would just take him in to see the physician as I believe you can never be too careful.
