: Hi everyone,

: My 12 week old son is entirely breastfed. I plan on nursing until he is 6-7 months old. I pump ocassionally but he hates the bottle. He chews on it and finally arches his back and screams. It is going from bad to worse. As a result, I cannot go out, leaving him with anyone else, not even DH, because I have to be there to breastfeed him. I am not crazy about breastfeeding in public, so I go out with him only if I am certain I can be back home before feeding time. I am afraid that I will have to end up cupfeeding him when he is 6 months old, which is time consuming. Any suggestions anyone, on how to get him to take the bottle? I have been trying the bottle since he was 6 weeks old, just to let him get used to it, and he has hated it right from the start.

I suggest an older (age) nipple than she is supposed to have. Ie. if she is 3 months use a 6 months. Thomas' trouble was he couldn't get it as fast as he wanted. As soon as we switched he drank twice as much at a feed. Good luck.
