Hi! You are brave! We have not gone anywhere yet overnight with Miles. I can't imagine what our car would look like with all the "stuff". So, I can't help with the sleeping on trips. Miles also spit up formula. Sometimes as much as three hours later he would be in his bouncy seat laughing and a mouthful would just roll out. It was scary because I didn't want to leave him for a minute . My pediatrician said babies have a great gag reflex and he wasn't going to choke, but I was still a worry wart. Anyway, good news and it may be helpful to you - the spitting up has decreased considerably! The only time he spits up now may be when he is burpped, and not much at all. I definitely have learned about Miles, He definitely has to be burpped everytime he is moved from a laying position to an upright position. Otherwise, he'll keep air in there and will bring up formula with it. Try it with Will. I started giving Miles cereal in the bottle at about two months at the recommendation of our Dr. Miles was hungry, but if I gave him more formula he was sure to spit it up. It's been just two weeks since I started the cereal on the spoon and he's doing well. I only gave him two teaspoons for the first week, twice a day. Make it very runny (like gravy) at first and just put a dab on his lips/tongue to give him a feeling. You'll see him take it in and move his tongue all around. Some is definitely going to come out - eating isn't pretty, but it is fun to watch your baby grow. I started giving Miles three teaspoons this week and making it a bit thicker. He's doing great and is happy while eating. Still only twice a day. I feed him in the bouncy seat in the kitchen. Miles was born on October 1, 2002. We go to the Dr. in a week for the four month checkup. I'll ask about starting pears. I'm probably too cautious, but he's my first. My mother had 8 children and cracks up everytime I tell her the lastest "research". She says "Just do it!" About the rolling over...Miles just started rolling over about three weeks ago. Now, every time I put him on his stomach he immediately rolls over. I have to hold on to his clothes to get him to stay. He does push up and hold himself. He was very strong from the get go. Try practice having him hold up his head while he is laying on yours or his dad's chest. Lounge with him. That's what we did from the beginning. Take Care. I enjoy sharing with you since the boys are of similar ages.
