We started our baby off in a bassinet in our bedroom. We thought he would just 'disappear' in a crib. We didn't use any sleep positioning devices. He's gone through various stages where he wouldn't sleep in his bassinet--he's slept in his car seat, his swing, on top of Mommy, in bed with us :) He's settled down now and sleeps like an angel in his bassinet. He's almost four months old now and can roll over in both directions so we're shopping around for a crib.
