Hi! We put our now 4 month old son in a bassinett in our room. He did very well flat on his back. Actually, we ended up propping the head of the bassinett when he was just a newborn, too help with all of the gurgling. He's a great sleeper now. The bassinett was also easier for me because I could tell if he was waking up to eat or just stirring in his sleep. I didn't have to get up on the cold nights. Good luck!
