In Reply to: Is it unreasonable to expect my 6 month old to take 2 hour naps? posted by Michelle Karns on January 24, 2003 at 12:22:42:
: I have a 6 month old girl who has, up to now, been somewhat of a catnapper. She would sleep for 45 minutes every hour and a half or so. I would like for her to take a couple of 2 hour naps a day instead. Is this reasonable? Sometimes she does, and sometimes she wakes up after an hour and cries, but does eventually go back to sleep for another hour. Any suggestions for how to get her to stay asleep longer? No ideas on how to make a baby do anything. But my daughter was the same way. She'd take 2-4 30 minute naps during the day. A 45 minute nap was a long one for her. Sometimes she'd only nap for about 15 minutes. When she was about 8 months old the naps got longer. Now she takes a 3 hour nap in the afternoon.
