How old is your baby? I started Thomas a little bit early as he was a big baby, (about 3½ months) and his health visitor said that it was fine. He loved his food from the start - he was definitely ready as he used to cry when he saw anybody else with food, and used to try to grab at his cousins food. I wouldn't suggest starting too early though as their little systems can't take it too soon, but you know your baby better than anybody so would go with your instincts.
