There are drugs you can safely take while breastfeeding. The best thing is to check with yoru local la leche league. They are great with that kind of stuff. Also what I did was checked with the pharmacist. They are sometimes more up on that than doctors as they work with drugs all the time. They have actually phoned the doctor up for me and recommended that he prescribe me something different.
On the other side here is an excerpt I copied from the internet when I looked up some info on Amox 875 :
Nursing Mothers

Penicillins have been shown to be excreted in human milk. Amoxicillin use by nursing mothers may lead to sensitization of infants. Caution should be exercised when amoxicillin is administered to a nursing woman.

Still your doctor should know best but I would check with the pharmacist AND my local la leche league to be certain.
