I had the same problems with night waking when I started trying to give my daughter cereal around 4 months. I just held off until 6 months, and she is fine now. About the itchy, blotchy stuff, she just developed that problem too recently. I tried everything, changing detergent, soap, putting on lotion...nothing worked. I just saw the pediatritian and he said it was topical dermatitis and prescribed some topical lotion (Elerin, or something like that). I'm still not convinced there is not some logical reason why she is breaking out, but he said some people just have this problem for no obvious reason. I hope this helps.
