: Hi, When my kids had a rash "that wouldn't go away" the anti-fungal worked great. Use it every diaper change(even in between) and don't stop until long after the rash has dissapeared.it has to kill any remaining bacteria or it just returns again and again. I hope it works for you .and keep up with the diaper off.Don't wash bum with warm water, bacteria loves warm stuff. My DR called it a yeast rash.look up on GOOGLE maybe. Your doing fine.keep it up.

: My 5 month old son has developed this rash in his diaper area within the last three weeks or so. It is between and on him bum cheeks and can get pretty red. He has never had any type of diaper rash up until now. He started vegetables around the same time that the rash appeared and his rash seems particulary bad after a BM.
: Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may have caused this and what I can do?
: I have tried several diaper rash creams with minimal results. I am washing his bum with warm water and let it air dry for about 15 min after every change. I have tried an antifungal cream and it seemed to almost clear it up but then when I stopped using it, it came back. My doctor has just given me a cream containing cortisone(steroid),and also containing an antifungal. I have been using it several days and it still has not cleared up. I am so frustrated and I'm sure he is uncomfortable but I don't know what else to do.
