I agree with Steve, don't feel guilty because you did your best under the circumstances. I know of many children who were bottlefed(including my grandmother's four children), who have never had an ear infection, were very healthy, and intelligent. My cousin who was exclusively bottlefed is in a gifted program (the reason I mention it, is that they say breastfeeding helps in developing the brain in ways formula can't).
Don't let anyone make you feel guilty. I am bottlefeeding, and my son is in the 90th percentile for his growth(weight and length), he has never had a cold YET, or an ear infection or any other infection, just diaper rash which has nothing to do with breast or bottle.
