Hi there... I wanted you to know that I have been there!! I breastfed my daugther until about 3 1/2 - 4 months old. I had an awful time with breastfeeding. I really wanted it to work so bad!! Kaitlyn had a hard time latching from the beginning and then at 3 months, she decided to refuse my right breast. I talked to her Dr. and tried everything he told me and then I called the Le Lache league (SP?) and got advice from them!! Kaitlyn insisted on refusing my right breast. It was frustrating for me and her. Plus...she was hungry! I finally switched to the bottle. I felt guilty but relieved at the same time. Breastfeeding had become a chore instead of something I enjoyed. Anyways, to get to the point... Kaitlyn was formula fed from 4 months on. She is now almost 3. She has NEVER had an ear infection, doesn't have allergies and rarely has colds. I went thru a phase of feeling quite guilty about the whole thing. Your little one will do just fine. You haven't done anything damaging!! In fact, your little one got breast milk for a while and that is great!! Take care and know that you are not alone!
