I would give my kids little pieces of toast with butter or jelly on it, mac & cheese, peas, carrots, anything that was soft, and small enough, just make sure that he is not a pig and chokes! My 2 kids would stuff as much as they could at first in their mouths, then choke! I had to only put a small amount of food in front of them at a time until they were able to eat a little at a time, about 8 -9 mths. Good luck! It will be messy.

: Thomas is just a week off 6 months old, and I was wondering about when to introduce finger foods, as I hear that it should be from about 6 months. I give him a rusk sometimes but keep a very close eye on him when eating it and was looking for suggestions of other foods, and whether you think 6 months is too early. He's just got his first high chair which he loves, as he likes to sit at the table with us.
