Good point. It certainly makes sense that the urine could trigger a reaction in the absorbant material which could then cause an allergic reaction. I have also seen babies with rashes that cover the entire area the diapers covers. However neither would fully explain a diaper rash confined predominately between the cheeks which does not have direct contact with the diaper wet or dry.
