So it's not yeast... and it could be a reaction to the stuff in the diapers you use... or maybe food he's eating.

To rule out diapers, try using only cloth diapers for a couple of days. Yes - you will have to change more frequently. And YES - You will have some really ponderous messes on your hands. But hey, it's all in the name of the "scientific" experiments, right?

Maybe it's worth a try?
