Maybe you could try reading to him while lying (on your tummy) right up next to him while he is on his tummy. Make sure he can see the pictures in the books and work real hard to keep him interested (sing silly songs/expressive facial gestures). That was the only way I was able to get my daughter to stay on her tummy! Eventually she began to scoot around on her tummy (7 months) and then she finally crawled on all fours and started to cruise(9 months)and now she is walking (11 months)!! Don't worry. He is still within the normal range. Hope this helps!
