It could definatly be the detergent. My daughter has the most sensitive skin. Try ONLY useing Aveeno everything, soap and lotion. You might just try that at first if it dose'nt look better try the switching detergent. My daughter also gets a rash like that when she gets strep throat, just found that out! If baby has a cold, I would take him to Dr. Hope this helps.
