Honestly, I used a computerized toy to teach both of my kids when they were almost 2. It's a v-tech toy that has all the letters on it. It tells them what the letter is, the word of the picture that the letter is over, songs, etc. I started them by writing their names on paper. Then I told them to find the letter on the game board. When they pushed the letter, they heard the sound of that letter. Then it also taught them the order of letters in their names. I worked with them also. But I have to admit for those times when mommy needed a break, that v-tech was the best thing since leak proof diapers. : I'm having problems trying to get my BF's son to learn his alpha's and numbers. He constantly watches cartoons all the time so could that be a problem of why he doesn't pay any attention to learning.I'll tell him the letter is A then i'll tell him to point at it then say the letter, then he'll say I don't know. It's like his learning span is gone. How can I help him.?He's only here for about 2-3 weeks, then he'll go home to mommy,so I don't know if she helping him.I learned my alpha's and numbers b4 the age of 4.I really need to help him.
