: That mid-day nap lasts about 1-1.5 hours. I thought I included that but didn't. I understand that babies are supposed to get more nap time than that. Part of our strategy is to try to get Hannah down for two short naps (one in the mid-morning and one around 3pm) to add to that long mid-day nap. Some babies just don't need alot of nap time. If she sleeps good at night and gets a good nap during the day, I wouldn't worry. My kids out grew there 2 or 3 naps a day thing pretty early. They still fall asleep in the car if they are tired but I wouldn't worry. If you really need her to sleep more, I know this sounds bad, but when I went back to work, my daughter was not on any kind of schedule, at 10 mths I had to try. I would do our night thing, bath, bottle, then I would just put her in her crib and say goodnight. I had an old black and white TV on for background noise. She would cry for about 5 mins then go to sleep. My sister was a stickler for naps. Her son, until 2yrs, had to nap 2 times a day! She put him in his crib, no matter how long he cried she would not go get him. I don't agree with that, but he's relativly normal now 12 yrs later! I say, if she doesn't seem to need the later nap, don't worry about it. If she's grumpy in early evening, put her to bed a little earlier. Hope this helps!
