: Getting her TO sleep isn't necessarily a big problem. It's keeping her asleep for more than 30 minutes in her crib. I probably wasn't terribly clear. The going-to-sleep questions are related but not really the biggest issue. What it comes down to is that my mother-in-law won't be able to hold her and rock with her forever. I know they both enjoy it but Hannah won't be a little peanut forever. The problem is, once again, that she won't stay asleep for much more than 30 minutes in her crib. It's obvious she needs more sleep than that. I've seen her when she's only had 3 :30 naps during a day and it's not pretty. I agree with what Kim said(I think it was her), that maybe when she wakes up after 30 min have your mother-in-law or whoever is with her go to her and just rub her back or tuck her in and see if she will go back. Also don't go in right away let her cry for a few min. so she doesn't come expect that she will be picked up to play or whatever.

When my son used to wake up after sleeping only 20 min, I would go in and jiggle the crib a bit or tuck him in and tell him go back to sleep. It usually would work. Sometimes he would be so hyper and VERY wide awake and nothing would put him back to sleep.
