Usually you can distinguish reflux when they spit up they scream or cry due to it burning. My daughter had this and outgrew/is outgrowing it. She is 6 months old and still spits up but it is not nearly as much as she used to. Its not due to her eating too much because she only typically eats 4 oz at a time. Although that could be a reason why they spit up. Her digestive system is just underdeveloped, which I'm told is usually the case when babies spit up and as it develops they spit up less until they eventually stop. I'm sure he'll eventually outgrow this. Good luck.
