My 4 1/2 month old did/does the same thing, but it is improving quickly. My Dr. said that some babies just spit up more than others. It was not considered reflux because my son was growing and gaining weight appropriately.

I learned to burp him everytime we pick him up from a prone position. This helps a lot! As he's learning to sit up by himself the spitting up has decreased considerably. However, I do notice that if he sucks on his pacifer for a while, a mouthful of clear (saliva) mixed with food/formula may come up. Again, best advice continue to burp him all the time, especially when changing positions. Good Luck!
