I agree with you Phil and that is exactly what I did. I grew up in a home where my parents were married. They were miserable. They were both alcoholics and fought horribly. My father was a monster, my mom beat my brother. I was abused in every way imagineable. I vowed my children would never go through what I did, so when my ex-husband ( I was married briefly) tried to do me in that was it. I am married again now to a wonderful man who is amazing with the boys, but I wouldn't change having my boys out of wedlock for living in the abuse my ex-husband dealt me or living a life like my parents.
