: My wife, he, and I all went to Best Buy to do some shopping and stopped in the DVD section, you know, to buy a movie or two. We told him he could pick out one DVD for himself, and, of course, wanted the most expensive one ($25)! Further, it was one we'd never seen or heard of but still, he wanted it. Try as I might to switch him to cheaper, more famous ones (Monsters Inc., etc.), he wouldn't budge. I pulled out the big guns and pretended to be sad about not getting the Monsters Inc. DVD, but it still didn't work. : As we walked up to the checkout counter, I continued the sad face... hoping it would sway him. Finally, 10 feet from the counters he stops, walks over to my wife with big tears in his eyes and says, "Mommy, take this back and get Monsters Inc... I don't want this one." My wife asks, "Why?" He says, "Because I want to get Monsters Inc. for my DADDY!" And starts crying hard. : My heart broke. At 3 (!!), this amazing kid was willing to sacrifice something that he obviously wanted very badly, just to make sure I wasn't sad anymore!! I was deeply touched!! : Needless to say, we bought both. : See what you new parents have to look forward to! This whole thing, this parenting process... it's freaking AMAZING!!! : Have a good one. That is so sweet. Kinda makes me want to cry!
