: I have a boy who is now 6 weeks and seems to have a protein allegy--is real fusy unless is being held. he still will not sleep more than 20 min at a time unless is being held- if i put him down he screams like he is dying- we have been through nutramigin, pregestimil and now maybe elecare? any thoughts? how long should we stay on these before imrovement is shown or is he just wanting to be held? looks like he is in pain though, but know allergic reactions or bloody stool. Is this normal?

I had a girl born 10/8/02 and she sounds similiar to your baby. Shes been on neocate since early December and it has helped with the reflux but not the fussiness and sleeping. We can get her to fall asleep but cannot get her to stay asleep for more than 20 min. even on her tummy. She sleeps 12hrs at night because she doensnt sleep during the day(maybe 3 - 20min naps) but now when we get her to sleep at night, she wakes up screaming an hour after we put her down, and then this goes on for at least 2 hours. We then end up feeding her more formula. What have you been doing to cope?
