: My son is scheduled for surgery to have his tonsils and adenoids removed and tubes put in his ears this May. I needless to say am a mess!!! : Can anyone give me any light to this surgery...I'm terrified of him going under. I know it is a very common surgery and there is really nothing to worry about but I cant help it. I'm also afraid that he is going to dehydrate after the fact and have to go back into the hospital for I.V.'s. I dont want the poor little guy to have to encounter that situation! : Has anyone else had there child done at such an early age and what was the aftermath? : Thanks : Jennifer S. Hey Jennifer. My DD had her adnoids removed and tubes put in her ears when she was 17 months old. The worst part is when they take them back. I remember they gave my DD a "valuim drink" to relax her. I was thinking "Ok, can I have one too?" I needed that darn valuim more than she did!! All went fine and she was running around playing that same afternoon. Healthwise she has been soooooo much better. Good luck. I'm sure all will be fine! Jamie H
