: I have a little boy who has thrush since he was 1mth old. He is coming up to 3mths and he has been through 2 bouts of nystatin...which does not work...My doctor just prescribed gentain violet..I am not feeling so good about using it as I have heard that it can be harmful to babies...I've read about diflucan, called my doctor and he told me to call Mother Risk(Hotline)and ask them what they thought of both drugs...Is there anybody who has tried Gentain violet and been successful?

have u tried yogurt? plain sugar free yogart?

diflucan is good but a natural alternative may behelpful and yogurt is great or opening an asiopholis gelcap and putting a few drop a day for ur child to sip may be helpful as well its over th counter and not expensive just mae sure it gelcaps to the same as yogurts wthout the milk part jst the liveenzymes that the yogurt has in it to kill yeast and help maintain a healthy digestive tract(tonguetoo)
