Hi Yvette If she's falling asleep sucking on a bottle with milk (or juice) there's still an increased risk of dental caries and ear infections, as the milk or juice coating her teeth and mouth creates a breeding ground for bacteria. That's not to say she will definitely develop dental caries or an ear infection, just that the risk is increased. If she has become dependant on her bottle as a sleep association, she may not willingly give it up for a long, long time. A dependance on her bottle as a means to fall asleep would also mean that if she wakes during the night she will likely want a bottle then as well. Rowena
