My baby never slept on his back... he always slept longer and more comfortably on his tummy. As a new mom, I was very concerned with SIDS. There is an INCREDIBLE baby monitoring system that we received as a present that was a GREAT relief and peace of mind. It's made by Bebe Sounds and can be purchased for around $45.00 at Babies-R-Us. I personally felt that it was the best gift ever... It monitors every time your child moves, including breaths. All you do is put the board under the mattress. We never once had a false alarm. It went off once when my son moved into the corner of the bed... scared me to death, but happy that it worked!

I really am not fond of Bebe Sounds but this product is wonderful. It's worth the $45.00. I used it for naps and night times.. just because I would worry that something could happen inbetween times of me checking on him. I used it up to 7-8 months...
