: My six and a half month old baby boy won't sit still for a moment, not even at mealtimes. He is a very busy and curious little guy. He is generally not interested in eating these days. : While nursing, he eats for the first 3-4 minutes and then he gets playful and turns his head all around to check out what's happening in the background. When I'm feeding him cereal/solids, he eats the first few spoonfuls and then he starts blowing spit bubbles, tries to grab the spoon, shakes his head wildly from side to side. Most of the food ends up on his clothes, bib or face. (I can rarely aim the spoon at his mouth anymore!) Fruits that were his favorite, too get the same treatment...he never gets past a third or quarter of a jar. Although I find this funny sometimes, mealtimes are becoming stressful for me and they take forever. It takes over 45 minutes to feed him solids these days. : This is my second baby...my first was/is a food lover, so all this is new! Has anyone gone through this? He seems to eat so little, yet he is full of energy and activity. He seems healthy too. Should I just give up and hope it is a phase? Or is this the beginning of the makings of a picky eater? My son was the same way. I started him on finger foods early for this reason. He loved being able to feed himself. And, now that is basically all he wants to eat. So I let him... as long as something is filling the belly and working. Good luck!
