: was wondering if anyone knows how to come to some agreement with step-father on appropriate disapline for children ages 6 and 10 when we come from two totally different upbrings!!!??? sometimes i think his punishments are too harsh. where do we find a middle ground?? and what is age appropriate punishments???? thanks so much for any feed back

Personally, this subject should have been discussed LONG before you got married to your new man. Not only are you choosing a new mate- but also the "father" of your children.

So- now that you are married, it sounds more sticky. If you can't see common ground on this- then either compromise or give in. You can only change yourself. If you are out to change the mind of your mate, you are wasting your time.

Honestly, why did you not figure out discipline styles before now?
